If you enjoy a cup of cold brew coffee, you will definitely love the Hario Mizudashi Coffee Pot 1l . This simple brewing method allows to extract full body and aroma of your coffee.

Cold brew lets your coffee retain delicate flavours while eliminating bitter acids and oils which are the result of brewing in high temperatures. The high-quality permanent filter guarantees a clear cup of coffee

Here's a step-by-step guide on how to make cold brew coffee using the HARIO Mizudashi Coffee Pot (1L):

Ingredients:

  • Coarsely ground coffee beans
  • Cold, filtered water

Instructions:

  1. Measure: Start by measuring your desired amount of coffee grounds. As a general guideline, a ratio of 1:7 coffee to water is commonly used for cold brew. For example, if you want to make 1 liter of cold brew, you would use approximately 142 grams (5 ounces) of coffee.

  2. Grind: Grind your coffee beans to a coarse consistency. This helps with proper extraction and prevents over-extraction during the long brewing process.

  3. Prepare the coffee pot: Open the lid of the Mizudashi Coffee Pot and remove the inner filter. Add the ground coffee into the filter, making sure it is evenly distributed.

  4. Add water: Slowly pour cold, filtered water over the coffee grounds in the filter until the Mizudashi Coffee Pot is filled to its maximum capacity (1 liter in this case). Ensure that all the coffee grounds are saturated with water.

  5. Stir: Gently stir the coffee and water mixture with a spoon or a chopstick to ensure even extraction. Make sure all the coffee grounds are fully immersed.

  6. Steep: Place the lid back on the coffee pot and let it steep in the refrigerator for at least 12 hours, or up to 24 hours for a stronger brew. The longer steeping time allows for a smoother, less acidic flavor.

  7. Filter and serve: After the desired steeping time, remove the coffee pot from the refrigerator and carefully remove the filter with the coffee grounds. You can discard the used coffee grounds.

  8. Pour and enjoy: The cold brew coffee is now ready to be served. Pour it over ice or dilute with water according to your taste preferences. Cold brew coffee is typically enjoyed as a concentrate, so you may want to add water or milk to dilute it to your desired strength.

That's it! You have successfully made cold brew coffee using the HARIO Mizudashi Coffee Pot. Remember to clean the coffee pot and filter after each use. Enjoy your refreshing cup of cold brew!
